Pork Chops in White Wine Cream Sauce

Ingredients:

  • 4 bone-in pork chops

  • 1/4 cup flour

  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder

  • 1/2 teaspoon Italian seasoning

  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder

  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

  • 1/4 teaspoon pepper

  • 2 tablespoons olive oil

  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter

  • 4 cloves garlic, minced

  • 1/2 cup white cooking wine

  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice

  • 1/2 cup heavy cream

  • 1/2 cup chicken stock

  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning

  • 4 sprigs fresh thyme

Instructions:

  1. In a shallow dish or bowl, mix together the flour, garlic powder, onion powder, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper.

  2. Dredge each pork chop in the flour mixture and place on a plate. Keep a tablespoon of the flour mixture aside to add to the sauce later.

  3. Heat olive oil in a cast-iron skillet over medium high heat. Once hot, add in the pork chops and sear on each side. Remove the pork chops from the skillet and place on a clean plate. Set aside.

  4. In the same skillet, add the butter and garlic and cook until fragrant. Add the reserved tablespoon of your flour mixture and cook for 1 minute.

  5. Add in the white cooking wine and let it cook for a few minutes to let the alcohol cook out. Add in chicken stock, heavy cream, and lemon juice. Add in the thyme and Italian seasoning. Add salt and pepper to taste if needed.

  6. Simmer the sauce for a few more minutes. Turn heat down to low and add the pork chops back to the pan. Flip each pork chop to make sure each side is coated in sauce. Continue to simmer until the pork chops are heated through. These go great with a side of mashed potatoes. Enjoy!
